A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Greater Preston Business Association was called to order at 49 North State Street, Preston, Idaho, at 1:15 p.m.

The following directors were present: David Cox of Lewiston State Bank, Alan White of KACH Radio, and Doug Larsen of the Preston Deseret Industries.

David Cox, President, presided, and Nikki Lower, administrative clerk, recorded the proceedings of the meeting.

David Cox presented the paperwork from the renewal of the GPBA’s business license with the State of Idaho. It was decided that after the first of the year, and after the results of the Board election had come in, the listing would be updated to include the proper information for the positions of Vice President, Director, and Secretary.

The invoices for each business membership were presented. As per the resolution of the previous meeting, each invoice was enclosed in a letter detailing the change from a $175 fee to a $100 fee. Each letter is to be mailed out to the appropriate business, and all those who have not responded by the next Board meeting will be visited in person by two Board members.

To avoid conflict with the annual banquet of the Franklin County Republican Party, it was decided that the Elections Dinner of the GPBA would be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014. Lee Hollingsworth, of Edwards Floral, is in charge of making the arrangements, and David Cox would assist in making the reservations at the RobinsonBuilding. Both Stokes Marketplace and New York Deli will be approached concerning catering, and the charge for admission will be determined after the cost estimates have been given.

The following businesses were put forward for Business of the Year: Webb Funeral Home, the Deseret Industries, and the Preston Citizen. The Deseret Industries was removed from consideration due to its representation on the Board, and it was decided that Webb Funeral Home has had a greater impact on the community, and David Cox will approach the directors with the consideration.

The following changes were made to the 2014 election ballot: Greg Marsden, of the Preston Citizen, was removed from consideration and replaced solely by Jodi Janke, and Dee Hunzeker, of Hunzeker Ford, was added on the nomination of David Cox. Alan White is to check with FranklinCountyMedicalCenter and Fred Titensor, of Valley Implement and Irrigation, regarding any further nominations, with an aim for a total of seven candidates. All names and changes are to be reported by Monday, December 23, 2013.

The next meeting of the Board will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 1 p.m.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.
