A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Greater Preston Business Association was called to order at 49 North State Street, Preston, Idaho, at 1 p.m.

The following directors were present: David Cox of Lewiston State Bank, Bailey Beckstead of Beckstead Real Estate, Alan White of KACH Radio, Paul Swainston of Swainston Mill and Cabinet and the Franklin County Theatre and Arts Council, and Doug Larsen of the Preston Deseret Industries.

David Cox, President, presided, and Doug Larsen recorded the proceedings of the meeting.

The following names were decided upon for the 2014 election ballot: Chris and Jeanne Groll of Groll Family Fitness, Pat Nealy of Bear River Publishing, and Jodi Janke of the Preston Citizen, with Greg Marsden of the Preston Citizen and Dan Parish of Direct Communications presented for consideration. An e-mail will be sent out to businesses asking for interest or nominations for the election.

The following assignments were made to Board members to contact businesses about nominations: Alan White – Valley Implement, FranklinCountyMedicalCenter; Paul Swainston – West Motor Company; David Cox – Stokes Marketplace; Doug Larsen – Ron Keller Tire; Bailey Beckstead – Rounds and Associates. Businesses are to be contacted by Friday, December 06, 2013. Votes will be accepted up to the fourth Thursday in January.

It was decided that the Association-wide luncheon for the month of January would not be held at the Preston Deseret Industries at 36 South State Street, Preston, Idaho, but that the D.I. would host the luncheon in a later month. Beckstead Real Estate at 32 West Oneida Street, Preston, Idaho offered to host the January luncheon.

Bailey Beckstead moved to change the annual membership fee from $175 to $100 in order to promote and increase in membership and active participation of businesses, with a brief statement to be included in the bill addressing the reason for the change. Doug Larsen seconded the motion, and all agreed. Alan White was assigned to include the statement.

The next meeting of the Board will be held on December 19, 2013, at 1 p.m.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
